Educational Goals
1 In accordance with the Fundamental Law of Education and the School Education Law, the school aims to provide higher general education and specialized education related to international culture, and to cultivate the qualities necessary to become effective members of national society.

School Emblem
The school emblem was designed by Artist Masao Sekine, a Japanese-style painter from Iwatsuki Ward, and was enacted on April 1st, 1962. This is a design of Shira-Tsuru Castle, a historic site in the former Iwatsuki City. The flying figure symbolizes the passion of a young man burning with hope, and the pen embodies the student's for learning, which is the main text.

[Curriculum Policy (Education at Iwatsuki High School)]
In order to achieve the goal of human resource development (the image of students we want to nurture) as stated in the gradation policy, we organize curriculum for general high school education and specialized education related to international culture based on the educational goal, school motto “Respect, Collaboration, and Creativity” and the school image we aim to achieve. In addition, we will actively utilize ICT, external resources (Saitama City, universities such as Dokkyo University, etc.), overseas exchange schools, Japanese Red Cross Society, Rotary Club) and SDGs.
~Common to General Course and International Cultural Course~
A wide range of courses will be offered to accommodate diverse career paths, and a variety of elective courses will be offered to help students realize their career goals and satisfy their own intellectual curiosity.
In order to develop self-driven learners (active learners) with room for growth, we will practice independent, interactive, and deep learning in a variety of educational activities, including subject instruction.
To cultivate practical communication skills, language skills with a focus on English will be developed. In addition, students are encouraged to participate in various contests (speech contests, debate contests, English composition contests, etc.) as well as to take advantage of various certification tests (GTEC, Eiken, Nikken, Kanken, etc.).
Support challenges by actively providing a variety of learning opportunities such as the elective “International Relations”, lectures and workshops, overseas study (e.g. Australia) and web-based learning with other countries. In addition, we will provide opportunities for international exchange by accepting foreign students and exchange students.
To cultivate the practical ability to discover and solve local and global issues as well as to explore the self, we will implement a comprehensive time of inquiry, “From Iwatsuki to the World, and from the Present to the Future”.
Special activities (LHR, school events, student council activities), club activities, and volunteer activities will be utilized to foster the ability to identify and solve problems through collaboration, social skills, and the ability to overcome difficulties (resilience).
Systematic career guidance including self-exploration, experiential learning, and college preparatory courses will be provided so that students can achieve the best possible career path for self-fulfillment. ~International Cultural Course~
Specialized subjects include “General English,” “English Comprehension,” “Current English,” and “Intercultural Understanding,” while elective subjects include “Second Foreign Language” and “Japanese Language.

Hina Doll Clock
At the student entrance, there is a clock in the shape of a doll mound designed by painter Masao Sekine, which was also the city emblem of Iwatsuki City.
