週末は、 それぞれのホストファミリーと一緒に思い思いの時間を過ごしまし た。

海へ出かけたり、レストランで食事をしたり、 遠出をしたりと、各家庭で充実した休日を過ごしたようです。

Students spent their final weekend in Australia with their host families, making memories together in their own different ways.

約9時間のフライトを終え、無事に日本へ帰国しました。

空港では、出迎えに来てくださった保護者の方々の姿を見つけ、 ほっとした表情を浮かべる生徒たち。

大きなけがや病気、 トラブルもなく、 16名全員が無事にオーストラリアでの研修を終えることができま した。

After a nine-hour flight, all 16 students returned safely to Japan.

今回の海外授業体験学習では、英語の学習だけでなく、 現地の高校生やホストファミリーとの交流を通して、

異なる文化や価値観に触れる貴重な経験を積むことができました。

オーストラリアで出会った人々や文化、 そこで得た気づきや学びを大切にし、 これからの学校生活や将来につなげていってほしいと思います。

The experience went far beyond learning English. Students encountered different cultures, values and ways of communicating through real relationships.

本日は専用バスでクイーンズランド大学を訪問しました。

Today, we visited the University of Queensland by private bus.

現地では2グループに分かれ、日本人留学生の方々にキャンパスを案内していただきました。土曜日ということもあり、普段より学生の姿は少なく、また、施錠されていて入ることのできない場所もありましたが、落ち着いた雰囲気の中、ゆっくりとキャンパス内を見て回ることができました。

In two groups, the students toured the campus with Japanese students studying at the university. The quiet Saturday atmosphere gave them time to explore the campus at a relaxed pace.

その後はバスで市内に移動し、ブリスベンの街を散策しました。たくさんのお店が並ぶエリアでは、それぞれ買い物を楽しみました。2時間以上の自由時間がありましたが、生徒たちは時間いっぱい買い物を楽しみ、終了後も「まだ見たい、まだ買いたい」という様子でした。

In the afternoon, the students explored Brisbane and enjoyed more than two hours of free time for shopping. Even when time was up, they still wanted to see more!

明日は、それぞれのホストファミリーと過ごす休日です。海へ出かけたり、レストランで食事をしたり、少し遠くまで足を延ばしたりと、各家庭で様々な予定があるようです。

Tomorrow, each student will spend the day with their host family, with plans ranging from trips to the beach and meals out to excursions further afield.

本日はウィナム高校を訪問する最後の日となりました。

Today was our final day at Wynnum State High School.

午前の英語の授業では、これまでお世話になったホストファミリーやバディへの感謝を込めた手紙を完成させました。その後、オーストラリアでの思い出や日本でおすすめしたい場所について、1人ずつ英語で発表しました。

Students completed thank-you letters for their host families and buddies, then gave individual presentations in English about their memories of Australia and places they would recommend in Japan.

続いて、日本文化を紹介する授業を行いました。書道、けん玉、だるま落とし、あやとり、かるた、折り紙、浴衣、福笑いの8つのブースに分かれ、ウィナム生たちに日本の文化や遊びを紹介しました。

Students then introduced Japanese culture through eight activity booths, including calligraphy, kendama, origami and traditional games.

それぞれのブースでは、本校の生徒が説明や実演を行った後、ウィナム生たちにも実際に体験してもらいました。初めて触れる日本文化に興味津々の様子で、目を輝かせながら説明を聞き、楽しそうに体験する姿が印象的でした。本校の生徒たちも、自分たちの文化を英語で伝えることにやりがいを感じ、生き生きと活動していました。

After demonstrations by our students, Wynnum students tried each activity themselves. The experience became a lively opportunity to share Japanese culture through English.

最後には、修了証の授与とお別れのセレモニーが行われました。これまでの交流への感謝を込めて、本校の生徒たちがソーラン節を披露しました。さらに、バディたちも加わり、最後は全員で一緒に踊りました。

At the farewell ceremony, students received certificates and performed Soran Bushi. Their buddies then joined in, and everyone danced together.

ウィナム高校での学校生活にも少しずつ慣れ、今日はリラックスした様子で授業に臨むことができました。

The students are gradually getting used to school life at Wynnum and were able to join today’s lessons in a more relaxed way.

午前の授業では、睡眠や感情に関する表現を新たに学び、前日に学習した表現も取り入れながら、実践的な会話練習に取り組みました。また、Thank you letterの書き方を教わり、ホストファミリーやバディへの感謝の気持ちを英語で手紙にしました。

In the morning, students learned new expressions about sleep and emotions and practised using them in conversation. They also wrote thank-you letters to their host families and buddies.

授業を担当してくださった先生は18年間日本で暮らした経験があり、ご自身の経験を踏まえて、生徒たちに"Asking questions is good practice. "（質問をすることは英語の良い練習になります。)と英語力向上のアドバイスをしてくださいました。生徒たちも、分からないことをそのままにせず、積極的に質問することの大切さを学びました。

The teacher encouraged students with the advice, “Asking questions is good practice.” They learned that asking actively is an important part of improving their English.

続いて、日本語に授業に参加しました。小グループに分かれ、日本の学校生活や部活動、余暇の過ごし方について、ウィナム生に紹介しました。特に、最近日本で使われている流行語を英語で説明するのは難しい場面もありましたが、言葉だけでなく身振り手振りを交えながら一生懸命伝えました。ウィナム生も興味深そうに聞き、同じ動きを真似するなど、楽しく交流することができました。

In Japanese class, students introduced Japanese school life, club activities and free-time activities to Wynnum students. Even when words were difficult to explain, they used gestures and expressions to communicate.

午後は体育の授業に参加し、AFL（オーストラリアン・フットボール）を体験しました。ラグビーに似たボールゲームで、ウィナム生たちと声を掛け合いながらプレーしました。昨日よりも自然に言葉を交わす場面が増え、チームで協力しながらゲームを楽しむ姿が見られました。

In the afternoon, students experienced Australian Football. Compared with the previous day, they communicated more naturally while working together as a team.

本日はウィナム高校を訪問しました。

Today, we visited Wynnum State High School.

到着すると、バディ（現地校で一緒に行動したり、学校生活をサポートしてくれたりする現地の生徒のペア）と初めて対面しました。

最初は緊張した表情を浮かべていましたが、バディの名前が呼ばれていよいよ対面すると、次第に笑顔が見られるようになりました。

After arriving at the school, our students met their buddies for the first time. Although they looked a little nervous at first, smiles gradually appeared as each student was introduced to their buddy.

校内を案内してもらった後は、バディたちと一緒にフルーツバスケットを行いました。

ゲームを通して会話と和やかな雰囲気が自然と生まれました。

After a tour of the school, the students played Fruit Basket together with their buddies. Through the game, conversation began naturally and the atmosphere quickly became more relaxed.

続いて、英語の授業に参加しました。英語の表現を学ぶだけでなく、相手とのやり取りを通してコミュニケーション力を高める活動にも取り組みました。授業が進むにつれて、生徒たちが英語を使って積極的に意思を伝えようとする姿が増えていきました。

Next, the students joined an English class. In addition to learning new expressions, they took part in activities designed to develop their communication skills. As the lesson progressed, more students began actively trying to express their ideas in English.

午後は高校2年生の体育の授業に参加しました。ウォームアップで体を動かした後、ボールを使ったゲームに挑戦しました。ルールをウィナム生たちに教えてもらいながら、各チームで声を掛け合い、協力してゲームに取り組みました。

In the afternoon, the students joined a Year 11 physical education class. After warming up, they took part in a ball game. With Wynnum students explaining the rules, everyone communicated, cooperated and enjoyed playing together.

8月17日夜、成田空港を出発し、海外授業体験学習がスタートしました。

On the evening of August 17, we departed from Narita Airport, marking the start of our Australia Study Experience Program.

約9時間のフライトを経て、オーストラリア・ブリスベンに到着しました。

After a flight of approximately nine hours, we arrived in Brisbane, Australia.

到着後は専用バスに乗り、まずはマウント・クーサへ向かいました。

After our arrival, we boarded a private bus and headed first to Mount Coot-tha.

展望台からはブリスベン市内を一望できました。

From the lookout, we enjoyed a panoramic view of the city of Brisbane.

続いて、ローンパインコアラ保護区を訪れ、コアラやカンガルーに加え、オーストラリア固有の動物を見学しました。

Next, we visited Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, where the students saw koalas, kangaroos, and many other animals native to Australia.

生徒たちはオーストラリアの動物たちを間近で見る貴重な体験を楽しんでいました。

The students enjoyed the valuable opportunity to see Australian wildlife up close.

その後はサウスバンクを散策し、レストランでハンバーガーとポテトを味わいました。

We then explored South Bank and enjoyed hamburgers and fries at a local restaurant.

日本とは異なるボリュームに生徒たちからは驚きの声も上がりました。

The generous Australian-sized portions were quite a surprise for the students!

さらに、現地のスーパーマーケットにも立ち寄り、水やおやつ、お土産などをそれぞれ思い思いに購入しました。

We also stopped at a local supermarket, where the students chose drinks, snacks, souvenirs, and other items for themselves.

そして、いよいよ学校へ。ホストファミリーが生徒たちを迎えに来てくださり、各家庭へ向かいました。

Then, at last, we arrived at the school. Our host families came to welcome the students, and each student left with their host family for their new home in Australia.

ホストファミリーとの対面に安心した表情を見せる16名の生徒たちの姿がとても印象的でした。

It was wonderful to see the relieved smiles on the faces of all 16 students as they finally met their host families.

本格的に始まったオーストラリアでの生活。

Their life in Australia has now truly begun.

これからの学校生活やホストファミリーとの交流を通して多くのことを学び、様々な経験を積んでもらいたいです。

We hope that through their school life and time with their host families, the students will learn a great deal, discover new perspectives, and enjoy many meaningful experiences.
